The event was attended by Cai Zhansheng, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Quanzhou, who delivered a keynote address.
Quanzhou Fashion Industry Alliance Established
The Quanzhou Fashion Industry Alliance is committed to establishing a collaborative development framework, with the alliance leading, business associations providing services, and enterprises actively engaging. The alliance will focus on five key areas: industry innovation and upgrading, brand creation and value enhancement, talent development and recruitment, ecosystem development, and international exchange and cooperation. The goal is to transform Quanzhou into a globally influential "Fashion Hub."
In his speech, Mayor Cai Zhansheng warmly welcomed the guests and expressed sincere gratitude to those who have supported Quanzhou's economic and social development. He noted that during the Song and Yuan dynasties, Quanzhou was the largest port in the East, with a renowned textile and dyeing industry. The city has a long-standing history of leading in fashion, with Quanzhou residents at the forefront of global trends. Today, Quanzhou is a major hub for leisurewear in China and an important national base for textile, footwear, and apparel production, with a comprehensive industry chain that stretches "from crude oil to fashion garments." This integrated manufacturing ecosystem supports Quanzhou’s growing fashion industry, where fashion drives consumption, consumption drives manufacturing, and manufacturing fuels further consumption. The city’s deep cultural heritage, robust manufacturing base, and open-minded spirit provide limitless potential for the fashion industry’s development.
The formation of the Quanzhou Fashion Industry Alliance is a pioneering step in preserving and innovating the "Jinjiang Experience" (晋江经验), a model driven by entrepreneurs’ market insight and reinvention. It is also a crucial move toward optimizing Quanzhou’s industrial chain, enhancing its core competitiveness, and accelerating the global expansion of local brands. This marks a significant shift for Quanzhou as it transitions from being a "Manufacturing Powerhouse" ("制造强市") to becoming a leading "Fashion Hub."
Quanzhou will provide more personalized services, efficient support, and high-value policies to ensure entrepreneurs can invest, innovate, and grow with confidence. The city is determined to become a key player on the global fashion stage, representing China in international dialogues on fashion.
Mayor Cai also invited guests to visit Quanzhou, a vibrant "City of Life and Innovation," where they can experience cutting-edge national products, immerse themselves in world heritage culture, spark creative ideas, and explore abundant business opportunities.
