Trademark Owner: Anxi Longmen Town Water Bamboo Shoots Industry Association
Water bamboo shoots, also known as "Zhao Sun," belong to the Poaceae family and are perennial plants. They are celebrated as a premium vegetable for their tender texture and nutritional richness. Water bamboo shoots are valued for their delicate flavor and are known to contain a variety of minerals. In traditional herbal medicine, they have been recognized for their hydrating, diuretic properties and support in detoxification and managing high blood pressure.
The primary variety grown in Longmen Town is the "Four Seasons Water Bamboo Shoot," also referred to as the "Anxi Early Water Bamboo Shoot." This variety has been optimized over time through local cultivation techniques. Currently, Longmen Town has approximately 5,000 acres dedicated to growing water bamboo shoots, producing nearly 30,000 tons annually with a production value surpassing 40 million RMB.
The Longmen Water Bamboo Shoot brand has garnered several prestigious accolades, including certifications for pollution-free agricultural products from the Fujian Provincial Agricultural Department and a quality assurance certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture’s Food Safety Center. In 2011, Guiyao Village was designated as a "City Sub-food Control Base" by the Fujian Provincial Economic and Trade Commission. Additionally, the Guiyao Vegetable Cooperative was honored with the "Model Cooperative" award by the Quanzhou Agricultural Bureau in 2013, further advancing the integration of local agricultural and technological practices.
