  "Huian Yugan" (Pickled Fruit)

Trademark Owner: Huian Grain, Fruit, and Vegetable Industry Association

The cultivation of Yugan in Huian has a rich history of over 400 years, with the region being a key area for Yugan production in China, as noted in the "Huian County Chronicles." The fruit, which resembles pearls with a subtle waxy sheen, averages 7.6 grams in weight, with the largest reaching 13.5 grams. Its dimensions are approximately 1.9 cm in length and 2.5 cm in width. The flesh is light green, crisp, and aromatic, offering a distinctive flavor that starts bitter and ends with a sweet, lingering aftertaste. The fruit is low in fiber and high in juice content, ensuring top-notch quality. Every 100 grams of fresh Yugan contains about 31.13% crude polysaccharides, with 26.24% being protein, and vitamin C levels ranging from 200 to 1,814 mg.

A local saying highlights the fruit’s appeal: "Huian Yugan’s sweet aftertaste offers a refreshing sense of rejuvenation, making it beloved by people of all ages."

In support of rural revitalization, Huian County has focused on expanding the Yugan industry by establishing production bases, promoting leading brands, and creating unique products. The industry now spans 30,000 acres, producing over 40,000 tons annually, and contributing a market value of 100 million yuan. Three large cooperatives support more than 1,600 households. In December 2019, both "Huian Yugan (Fresh Fruit)" and "Huian Yugan (Pickled Fruit)" earned geographical indication certification.
