  Gufu Seaweed

Trademark Owner: Shishi Gufu Seaweed Association

Gufu Seaweed is a local specialty of Shishi City. Gufu Village, located in Xiangzhi Town, is the birthplace of seaweed cultivation in China, with a history spanning over 60 years. The village is situated on the northern coastline of Xiangzhi, adjacent to the National Central Fishing Port, at the junction of brackish water where Quanzhou Bay meets the sea. This area boasts excellent harbors, vast shallow waters, and abundant marine resources, providing ideal conditions for cultivating seaweed of exceptional quality. Gufu Seaweed is renowned for its smooth texture, rich nutritional value, unique flavor, and superior quality, making it a favorite among consumers.

Gufu Seaweed is the first product from Shishi to receive a national geographical indication trademark. The seaweed farming area in Gufu Village has now expanded to over 1,000 acres, with an annual yield of around 300 tons. Since 2020, the village has developed the "Rural Culture" Seaweed Cultural and Creative Park, integrating economic resources such as clams, fishing boats, and the seaweed industry to promote "Gufu Seaweed" as a key brand.
