"We are very optimistic about the market outlook this year! Panpan had a strong start in January," said Cai Jinchai, President of Fujian Panpan Food Co., Ltd. This confidence stems from their continuous pursuit of innovation and focus on quality.
As Cai Jinchai explained, "For many years, Panpan has followed the guiding principles of the 'Jinjiang Experience,' which was formulated during President Xi Jinping's time in Fujian. We have always adhered to a market-oriented approach, focusing on integrity, independent innovation, and overcoming challenges. Step by step, we have strengthened our two main sectors: food and beverages, actively embraced the health industry, and committed ourselves to producing high-quality cakes, bread, chips, and beverages. Our goal is to establish Panpan as a beloved brand for consumers."
Improved On-Time Delivery Rate by 15%
Pioneering Industry Sponsorship of the Winter Olympics
In Panpan Food's 5G+ smart factory, intelligent production lines are operating smoothly, with real-time data collection, analysis, and scheduling to optimize material usage. The 5G+ AI vision detection system monitors the bread's color and automatically removes defective products at the baking tunnel exit. This high-tech scene resembles a futuristic "smart factory" as depicted in movies and represents Panpan's ongoing transformation and innovation in the traditional food industry. The 5G+ smart factory has already achieved a highly visualized, intelligent, and lean production process. On-time delivery has improved by 15%, production coordination efficiency by 35%, product quality has increased by 18%, and labor costs have been reduced by 11%.
"Food is always a growing industry, but to succeed, we must stay strong and adaptable," said Cai. "In today's rapidly developing global economy, no industry can remain at the top forever. There will always be fluctuations and challenges. Only by staying in tune with the times, consumer trends, and technological innovation can a company remain resilient and thrive. Innovation powered by technology is key to our success." Panpan's innovation track record goes beyond the present. Over 20 years ago, Panpan created the world's first modified potato chip and has secured 17 patents for its chips and taro products. Recently, as the trend toward health and wellness grows, Panpan has formed strategic partnerships with research institutions and experts to focus on products catering to the health needs of the elderly and children. They have developed low-salt, low-calorie, low-fat, low-GI, and preservative-free foods to meet consumers' diverse health demands.
In response to the high-end snack market, Panpan has also launched the "Zero-Zero Snack" chain brand, creating high-end, experiential retail outlets. Currently, over 40 stores are located in Quanzhou. Additionally, Panpan has actively embraced a "food + sports" marketing strategy by becoming an official sponsor for major international sporting events. They sponsored the Chinese sports delegation for the Tokyo Olympics, the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Hangzhou Asian Games, and the Chengdu Universiade, marking the first-ever sponsorship of the Winter Olympics by a Chinese snack brand. Panpan is also confirmed as the official sponsor for China's team at the upcoming Paris Olympics. Cai Jinchai emphasized, "Through partnerships with top-tier sports events, Panpan continuously strengthens its brand reputation and expands its influence."
Higher Hygiene Standards than Pharmaceutical Companies
Continually Voted Most Popular Food Brand by Consumers
Innovation and tradition go hand in hand. If innovation drives Panpan’s market expansion, integrity is the foundation of its success. "We always say, ‘The food we make is for our own family to eat, and the drinks are for our own family to drink.’ We are committed to one firm belief: ‘Only quality products are released, only top-quality beverages are produced!’" Cai said firmly.
Adhering to this philosophy, Panpan selects top domestic and international suppliers to ensure the quality and safety of its raw materials. The company has invested over 100 million RMB annually in purification equipment, meeting even stricter standards than pharmaceutical companies.
"By upholding brand integrity, we are creating the soul of the enterprise. Only by consistently delivering safe and healthy products can Panpan's intangible brand assets become more valuable and cherished as they stand the test of time. Panpan has been named one of the ‘Most Popular Food Brands’ for several years," Cai remarked. As one of the "Integrity Stars" awarded by the Central Publicity Department and the National Development and Reform Commission in 2021, Cai understands the importance of integrity in business. "In Quanzhou, the city’s success as a brand hub is built on the integrity of local businesses. I believe that the entrepreneurial spirit of integrity should continue to thrive in this new era to solidify Quanzhou's identity as a brand city."
On December 10, 2023, the production base in Guizhou officially began operations, marking the completion of 17 large-scale modern production bases across China. Panpan’s strategic supply chain, spanning the entire country, is proving effective. Cai noted that Panpan's confidence in counter-cyclical investment is rooted in its strong brand foundation and innovative capabilities, as well as the promising market prospects and favorable business environment. "We believe that with government support, consumer recovery will accelerate. On the first day after the holidays, the municipal government held a conference on the development of the private economy in Quanzhou, introducing significant policy incentives, including more than 100 million RMB in R&D subsidies. Panpan has benefited from such policies, including rewards for top 100 companies and tax reductions, which have been invested in R&D and technological upgrades. With these favorable conditions, we are more confident than ever in advancing our business!"
