On December 1st, the Fujian Province College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base (Quanzhou) was inaugurated at Quanzhou Normal University, with key provincial and municipal leaders in attendance.
This base is a collaborative initiative between the Fujian Provincial Department of Education and the Quanzhou Municipal People's Government, and is managed by the Quanzhou Municipal Education Bureau, Quanzhou Normal University, and Lianjie Investment Group Co., Ltd. The base follows a model that combines "government guidance, social participation, market-driven operations, and academic collaboration" to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among college students. The total funding allocated for the base has reached 10 million yuan from various sources, including government levels.
Spanning approximately 12,000 square meters, the base is designed to accommodate 70 to 80 entrepreneurial teams and offer over 500 job opportunities annually. At present, 12 teams have already set up operations in the base, creating more than 150 job positions, with an annual output value exceeding 50 million yuan.
Following the unveiling ceremony, the base hosted an exhibition that showcased the achievements of innovation and entrepreneurship education in Quanzhou’s universities, as well as a display of outstanding works from the 2018 College Student Innovation and Creativity Competition. The event underscored the strides made in innovation and entrepreneurship within the region. Local government policies have fostered a dynamic ecosystem, providing financial support, hosting various competitions, enhancing entrepreneurial incubators, and focusing on talent development. These efforts have contributed to creating an environment conducive to innovation, entrepreneurship, and career advancement in Quanzhou.
The Fujian Province College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base (Quanzhou) is the sixth provincial-level off-campus base established since 2016, following similar projects in Nanping, Sanming, Zhangzhou, Longyan, and Xiamen. Additional bases are currently being developed in Fuzhou, Putian, and Ningde.
