To enhance health awareness and quality of life among community residents, the Senior University (Community College), part of Fujian Chuanzheng Communications Vocational College, hosted a "Food and Nutrition" course in Jianxingyang Community on April 20, 2023. The course offered practical guidance on balanced diets and dietary strategies for managing chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.
During the session, Ms. Wu Xiaofang, a nationally certified senior public nutritionist, used relatable examples and practical advice to emphasize the importance of balanced nutrition. She recommended including a variety of foods such as fresh vegetables, fruits, legumes, dairy, and tubers, alongside regular physical activity and mindful eating.
Ms. Wu also addressed common misconceptions about nutrition and unhealthy eating habits, encouraging participants to adopt balanced meal planning throughout the day. She highlighted how these practices can help prevent chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity.
Participants expressed appreciation for the session, noting a greater understanding of how balanced diets and active lifestyles contribute to long-term health and well-being.
