Recently, Lin Wenchao, Deputy Director of the Quanzhou Office for the Application of UNESCO "City of Gastronomy," led a delegation to participate in the 2025 Hong Kong Food Expo. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Expo is the largest agri-food and specialty product exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region and serves as a key international platform for culinary enterprises to exchange ideas and explore business opportunities.

　　To further strengthen economic and trade ties between Fujian and Hong Kong, the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce launched the "Fujian Delicacies to Hong Kong and Macao" initiative alongside the Expo. A 96-square-meter Fujian Food Pavilion was set up in the Public Hall, showcasing Fujian specialties such as ready-to-eat dishes and regional ingredients. Business matchmaking events were also organized to promote Fujian cuisine and support local enterprises in expanding into overseas markets.

　　Quanzhou's delegation—jointly organized by the City of Gastronomy Office and the Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce—featured six local food enterprises along with the Quanzhou Catering Industry Association and the Shishi Souvenir Industry Association. Their exhibits highlighted the city's rich gastronomic diversity, including Minnan snacks, seafood products, mountain delicacies, and traditional treats.

　　During the Expo, the Quanzhou team actively engaged with representatives from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, government departments, and visitors to promote Quanzhou's UNESCO World Heritage Sites & gastronomy, Hometown Banquet customs, traditional cooking techniques, intangible cultural heritage foods, and geographical-indication products. They also took part in the "Fujian Products Go Global" series, fostering exchanges with leading international food companies. The vibrant display of Quanzhou's signature flavors drew strong interest from visitors and business partners alike.

　　In addition, the delegation held a series of business exchange meetings with five major Hong Kong institutions—the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Catering Industry Association, and Hong Kong Fujian Federation. These dialogues deepened cooperation between Quanzhou and Hong Kong, enhanced overseas engagement with Fujian diaspora networks, and promoted investment in Quanzhou's growing culinary and food industries.
