The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China has recently released the First Batch of National Catalogue of Famous, Special, Excellent, and New Agricultural Products & Designated Quality Products for 2025. Three agricultural products from Quanzhou have been included in this prestigious list: two recognised under the "Famous, Special, Excellent, and New" (FSEN) Agricultural Products category, and one under the Designated Quality Agricultural Products category.
The newly recognised FSEN products are Dehua Blueberries and Dongtian Pineapples, while A-Ma's Camellia Oil was listed as a Designated Quality Product. With these additions, Quanzhou now holds a total of 35 FSEN agricultural products and 10 Designated Quality Products, placing the city at the forefront of the province in supporting rural revitalisation.
To enhance the institutionalisation and standardisation of the national FSEN programme, the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Centre under the Ministry has issued the Administrative Measures for FSEN Agricultural Products, building upon the existing Catalogue Registration Guidelines. These measures refine the criteria and procedures for product recognition and have come into effect in 2025. The current batch represents the first group selected under the new system.
In recent years, the Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has actively promoted the development of local specialty agricultural products. The bureau has implemented the national "Three Qualities and One Standard" initiative (quality products, branded products, premium products, and certified standards), explored regionally distinctive products, and guided local enterprises to apply for inclusion in the national FSEN catalogue. Additionally, it has encouraged participation in major exhibitions such as the China Agricultural Trade Fair and the Green Expo, enhancing the visibility and market competitiveness of Quanzhou's agricultural sector. These efforts have significantly increased the supply of high-quality specialty products and contributed to the city's broader strategy for comprehensive rural revitalisation.
