The town of Chidian in Jinjiang proudly announced that its signature culinary experience — the Chidian Scholars' Tribute Feast, part of the Jinyi Heritage Banquet series — has been officially recognized as a China Landmark Banquet. This marks the first nationally certified town-level themed banquet in the country. Additionally, twelve signature dishes from the banquet, including the acclaimed "Imperial Honors: Dragon and Tiger Ascent," were honored as China Landmark Dishes.
The Jinyi Heritage Banquet and its flagship Chidian Scholars' Tribute Feast draw inspiration from Chidian's rich legacy of imperial examination champions — known as Zhuangyuan in Chinese culture — and celebrate the town's scholarly traditions through an immersive dining experience. The feast creatively weaves together stories of famed historical figures such as Xu Hui, Wu Lu, Ouyang Zhan, Li Wu, and Li Huanzhi, presenting more than 30 artfully crafted dishes that reflect the spirit of honour, learning, and local pride.
This national recognition not only affirms the banquet's cultural and gastronomic significance but also elevates it as a unique expression of southern Fujian's heritage — blending storytelling, ceremony, and culinary artistry into one memorable experience.
