  Anxi Tieguanyin

Trademark Owner: Anxi Tea Industry Development Center

Anxi Tieguanyin, a premium Oolong tea, is one of China’s top ten famous teas, originating from the Qing Dynasty during the Yongzheng period. The tea is known for its mild nature, offering a unique balance between the richness of black tea and the fragrance of green tea. It is a semi-fermented tea that combines the sweetness of black tea and the fresh aroma of green tea, while avoiding the bitterness of green tea and the astringency of black tea. The taste is smooth, with a lingering sweetness that makes it highly praised as "Anxi Tieguanyin, its fragrance is most enduring."

The geographical indication certification for Anxi Tieguanyin was registered in April 2000. In July 2004, the product was officially recognized as a "National Geographical Indication Protected Product" by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China. In 2015, Anxi Tieguanyin won the “Gold Award for Chinese Famous Tea” at the World Expo and was listed as one of the "Top Ten Geographical Indication Teas with the Richest Cultural Heritage." In November 2017, it was awarded geographical indication protection by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.

In July 2020, Anxi Tieguanyin became one of the first products protected under the China-EU Geographical Indication Protection and Cooperation Agreement.

In May 2023, Anxi Tieguanyin was ranked first in the “2023 China Brand Value Evaluation Information,” with a brand value of 143.244 billion yuan and a brand strength score of 907. It continues to lead the market as the highest-valued regional brand (geographical indication product).
