Trademark Owner: Heshi Town Betel Nut Taro Association, Luojiang District, Quanzhou
Heshi Town, located in the central part of Luojiang District, enjoys an average annual temperature of 21℃ and has a frost-free period of 348 days. The area is humid and rainy, receiving approximately 1,400mm of rainfall annually. The fertile, well-drained soil is rich in organic matter and slightly alkaline to neutral, providing ideal conditions for growing betel nut taro.
Locally known as “Guo Ling Taro,” the Heshi Betel Nut Taro is cylindrical, measuring 30-40 cm in length and 12-15 cm in diameter. Its rough skin covers creamy-white flesh with purple betel nut-like markings and a sticky texture. The flesh is soft, with a rich taro flavor and unique taste, packed with nutrients. Each 100g contains 17.5g of starch, 2.2g of protein, as well as calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and vitamin C.
Heshi Betel Nut Taro has been grown according to national pesticide-free standards for many years, earning the “Pesticide-Free Agricultural Product” certification from the Fujian Provincial Department of Agriculture in 2004 and the national certification in 2009. On July 9, 2012, "Heshi Betel Nut Taro" was officially registered as a certification trademark by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
