Bridging cultures through heritage and connecting hearts through cuisine — yesterday, the opening ceremony for the micro-drama A Bowl of Quanzhou was held at the Dongya Window Cultural and Creative Park in downtown Quanzhou, alongside the "Unlimited Freedom" film prop exhibition. The production has been selected as one of the 2025 Key Micro-Drama Projects on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Tourism by Fujian Province.

Guided by the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Radio and Television Administration, the Provincial Culture and Tourism Promotion Association, the Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, and the Licheng District People's Government, the series is co-produced by Licheng Cultural Tourism Investment Co., Ltd. and Fujian Unlimited Freedom Cultural Media Co., Ltd. The executive producers are Zhu Weijie (Producer) and Liu Zhe (General Producer), with Wang Ruocheng directing and Zhao Zian, Tao Deyan, and Chen Xiran starring, alongside special guest actor An Zehao. The team aims to present audiences nationwide with a short drama that blends Quanzhou's scenic beauty, authentic cuisine, and rich cultural charm.

"A Bowl of Quanzhou follows the Chen family, inheritors of a traditional ginger duck recipe, as they navigate two decades of generational conflict and reconciliation," said producer Zhu Weijie. "Through their story, the drama will portray the enterprising, pragmatic, and resilient spirit of Quanzhou's people. We hope the power of visual storytelling will allow audiences to feel the warmth behind Quanzhou's cuisine and experience its landscapes, landmarks, and local character."

Zhu added that as Quanzhou actively pursues the title of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, A Bowl of Quanzhou will serve as the first chapter in the A Bowl of… series. Through the micro-drama format, the series will continue to share compelling stories about Quanzhou's cultural tourism and food heritage, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the city's unique traditions.
