　　On May 20, as part of the 3rd Quanzhou Talent Festival, the inaugural Fujian Symposium on the Functional Exploration and Utilisation of Food Resources was held at Quanzhou Light Industry Vocational College. The event brought together leading experts, scholars, and industry representatives from across China to discuss cutting-edge technologies and trends in the development and industrial application of functional food resources.

　　The event opened with the signing of a university–industry–research collaboration agreement between Quanzhou Light Industry Vocational College and the team led by Professor Zheng Baodong from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. The two institutions will jointly establish a Laboratory for Specialised Food Resource Development, with a focus on key sectors such as marine-based foods and functional nutrition.

　　At the opening ceremony, partnership plaques were awarded to newly joined platform enterprises including Youchen Group, Pinjian Foods, and the Quanzhou Yihe Food Research Institute. Certificates of appointment were also presented to newly recognised expert contributors. To date, the Quanzhou Association for Science and Technology has appointed 55 industry specialists to support the development of the regional food sector through expert knowledge and strategic guidance.

　　The one-day symposium featured four key segments: Keynote Speeches, Expert Presentations, Enterprise Showcases, and Research Highlights. More than ten cutting-edge reports were presented, covering areas such as AI-driven nutrition solutions, horticultural food products, health and wellness innovations, and functional food research. The event attracted a wide array of food companies and served as a high-level platform for knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and industry collaboration.

　　Looking ahead, Quanzhou Light Industry Vocational College plans to deepen cooperation with leading institutions and industry partners to further advance Fujian's food industry towards trillion-yuan scale, contributing technical expertise and talent development in support of the Healthy China strategy.
