Quanzhou.com, January 27 — On the evening of January 25, Quanzhou officially unveiled its promotional slogan, "Quanzhou Savour, Global Flavour," during the launch ceremony of the 2025 Fujian Cultural and Tourism Promotion Year and the 7th Southern Fujian Lifestyle Carnival. The slogan marks a key step in the city’s bid to become a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

　　In July 2024, Quanzhou announced its application to join UNESCO's Creative Cities Network under the City of Gastronomy category. To support this initiative and highlight its unique culinary identity, the city launched a slogan competition on October 15,2024. The six-week campaign drew an impressive 10,000 submissions from 228 cities across 30 provinces in China.

　　The competition sparked widespread interest, attracting participants of all ages—from primary school students to seniors in their nineties. Each submission offered a unique perspective on Quanzhou's culinary heritage, showcasing a rich variety of creative ideas. More than just a public engagement effort, the event became a powerful platform for promoting Quanzhou's food culture, raising its profile both nationally and internationally.

　　During the event, an interpretive video was presented, delving into the meaning behind the winning slogan: "Quanzhou Savour, Global Flavour."The video highlighted Quanzhou's historic significance as a maritime trade hub during the Song and Yuan dynasties, its status as a UNESCO World Heritage City, and its vibrant cultural legacy.

As a bustling port city, it has embraced diverse flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques brought by merchants and overseas Chinese.
